Colombia - Java Calderon
This exceptional microlot coffee was grown by Luis Anibal Calderon at Finca Villa Betulia in Colombia, a farm renowned for meticulous processing and varietal excellence. Only the ripest coffee cherries were hand-picked, then hand-sorted to remove any defects, ensuring a clean and expressive cup. The coffee was sun-dried on raised beds under carefully temperature-controlled conditions until it reached optimal moisture content, preserving clarity and complexity in the final roast.
This lot is composed of 100% Java, a rare and storied coffee variety. The variety was later introduced to Costa Rica in 1991, and finally to Colombia in 2010, where it has found an ideal home in high-elevation terroir. The result is a refined, elegant coffee that reflects both its deep historical roots and the precision of modern Colombian cultivation.
